Simmons Media Group, the Lucky Strike Casino and the Western Montana Fair are announcing satellite wagering on horse races from around the country during all six days of the Western Montana Fair, August 5 – 10 th, 2008.

While the public and county officials contemplate the future of horse racing, this year at the fair, the public will be able to place bets on races from select racetracks via satellite. The schedule will feature 25+ races daily between 12p- 6p and on Sunday August 10 th, from 12p-4p.

The Missoula Turf Club will be on hand each day to help fair goers pick the ponies and demonstrate how to place a wager. Wagering will be done adjacent to the grandstands. Several monitors will display various races from around the country for the public to view. (posted 6/5/08)

Summer Science Discovery Camps Now Enrolling Nature detectives study signs and tracks to learn more about animal behavior, they look closely at animal skulls and think about adaptations, and they search for insects as they explore the diversity of life in a field.  Kids are invited to do this and more at the Montana Natural History Center’s Summer Science Discovery Camps. 

Twenty eight different camps are available this summer with themes like Predators and Prey, Naturalist Explorers, and Adventures in Science!  Montana Natural History Center summer camps keep kids engaged in learning and having fun with exploration, local field trips, games, arts and crafts, and more.
