All day: Children’s Activities at Downtown Businesses
11:00am-3:00 pm: Santa at the Missoula Public Library. Enjoy FREE photos with Santa and share your holiday wishes. MUST be in line by no later than 2:15 pm, as Santa has to check on his reindeer at 3 pm sharp!
4-7 pm: Holidays on Higgins kicks off! Enjoy stationary floats parked on Higgins from Broadway to the XXXX’s, a Missoula Makers Collective Market with 30+ vendors, and cozy up to the burn barrels along Higgins. 
6 pm: Tree Lighting with Santa

 

 

 

Children’s Activities & Workshops:

All day during Holidays on Higgins, Missoula businesses host or provide a free to low cost activity to children and their families.

A Carousel for Missoula: 12-5:00 pm: Buy one Carousel Ride, Get one Free. 10% off Carousel Season Pass purchases available.

Animal Wonders/Residence Inn: 125 N. Pattee Street, 12-3 pm: Animal ambassadors, face painting, and coloring pages.

Bathing Beauties Beads:   812 Toole Ave, Suite E. 11:am-3:00 pm: Create beaded snowflakes ($6) Portions of proceeds support Missoula Food Bank.

Bernice’s Bakery: 190 S. 3rd Street West. 1-4:00 pm: Children’s Cookie Decorating (first cookie free, $1 for additional) Cash-Only, limited seating, dress warmly fo outdoor line.

Betty’s Divine: 509 S. Higgins Ave, 1-4 pm. Community beading circle with Heather! Come get cozy with us and craft a naughty or nice necklace or a jingle bell bracelet for yourself or to give as a gift. $5 each

Big Dipper: Multiple locations. Seasonal Holidays on Higgins ice cream flavor.

Cranky Sam Public House & Frame of Mind: 233 W. Main Street, 11-3 pm: Kid’s ornament making with photos on site for $3 with Frame of Mind. Adult beverages and brunch specials available.

Draught Works Brewery: 915 Toole Ave, 12 pm-close: Annual Snowflake Challenge ($2 to benefit Watson’s Children’s Center). Jeremy with Missoula Cakes will be doinga  Cakes and Casks pop-up from 2-5 selling slices of decadent cake along with yummy gifts and goodies galore!

Imagination Station & Residence Inn: 125 N. Pattee Street, 12-3 pm: Paint By Number

Import Market: 201 W. Broadway, 10 am-6 pm: Free coloring, $20 caricatures and upcycled ornaments. Donations accepted.

Jeannette Rankin Peace Center: 519 S. Higgins Ave, 12-4 pm: Origami peace crane ornaments and hot chocolate.

Lake Missoula Tea Company: 136 E. Broadway Street, 12-4 pm: Blend and label your own tea.

Lewisia Home: 312 North Higgins, 12-4 pm: Children’s gnome search, find the )barely) hidden gnomes and get a prize.

Mary’s Mountain Cookies: 101 S. Higgins Ave, 1-3 pm: Free cookie decorating for kids under 12.

Missoula Children’s Theatre: 200 North Adams Street, 2-4 pm: A Christmas Story Musical and festive cookies

Missoula Art Museum:   355 N. Pattee St, 11-12:30 pm: Free luminaria workshop for all ages.

Missoula Public Library: 455 E. Main Street, 11-3 pm: Holiday Extravaganza with live entertainment and festive treats. Santa at the Library from 11-3:00 pm, must be in line by 2:15 pm.

Montana Antique Mall: 331 West Railroad St, 11-5 pm: Christmas open house with treats and gift shopping.

Noteworthy Paper & Press: 219 S. 3rd St. West, 11-3 pm: Letters to Santa (stationery provided).

Pearl Boba Tea: 420 N. Higgins Ave Suite B, 12-4 pm: Coloring contest with a a chance to design the January drink special.

Revolvr: 301 N. Higgins Ave, 10 am-6:00 pm: Beanie Decorating.

Roxy Theater: 718 S. Higgins Ave, 12-4 pm:  Free Holiday Classics, hot cocoa available.

Sacred Ally: 130 E. Broadway St. 10-9 pm: Face painting, coloring station grand opening of the cocao bar, 20 % off all drink purchases.

The Western Montana LGBTQ+ Center: 500 N. Higgins, 3-7 pm: Pine cone crafts, cocoa bar, and Queer Makers Market.

VonCommon: 455 E. Main St, 11-4 pm. Art and craft holiday fair.

Plan your visit! Here are some transportation and parking tips and tricks for when you head to  Holidays on Higgins!
  • Parking is FREE on the weekends in all parking spaces Downtown, including the parking garages
  • YES – the gate arms are down in the garages 24/7. NO – you don’t have to pay for parking evenings (after 6pm Mon-Fri) and weekends, but you still have to take a ticket.
  • YES – Parking spots designated as leased spaces in the parking garages ARE AVAILABLE for public use evenings and weekends. NO – you won’t get ticketed or towed if you park in a leased spot evenings and weekends.
  • Ride the Line! Mountain Line is a great way to come Downtown and save some gas. It’s also Zero-Fare and all routes come to Downtown!
